The Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority of Vietnam (EREA) and the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) are launching Vietnam’s first ever technology catalogue. Egypt now becomes the 15th country collaborating bilaterally with the Danish Energy Agency. Two recent analyses show that both solar, wind and biomass are competitive technologies on the island Lombok, in Indonesia. Furthermore it is shown that integrating 60% renewable energy into Lombok’s power grid, by 2030, is a cost-efficient initiative. These analyses are a result of the Danish-Indonesian energy cooperation.

The Danish Energy Agency launches the Balmorel Lite tool for assessment of the value of renewable energy in different electricity systems. Based on existing power plants, various scenarios can be simulated to represent potential system effects of various investments in renewable energy sources like wind and solar. The winning tenders in the pilot tender of aid for solar PV conducted by the Danish Energy Agency were for a premium of only 12.89 Danish øre per kWh. This result testifies that electricity from solar PV in Denmark can now compete with the cheapest sources of renewable energy.

The Danish Energy Agency calls for tenders from businesses and private individuals regarding aid for 20 MW solar PV. A part of the tender is cross-border as 2.4 MW will be open to solar PV projects located in Germany. At the same time Germany conducts a tender on support for 50 MW solar PV, which is also open to installations in Denmark.
