As of today the “Sino-Danish Pilot Project on District Heating (DH) and Energy Efficiency (EE) Improvements in China” has been signed by the Danish Energy Agency (DEA), the National Energy Conservation Center (NECC), the Development and Reform Commission of Shaanxi Province (SXDRC) and the People´s Government of Tongchuan City of Shaanxi Province (SXTC), in Xi’an- Shaanxi Province.

The Danish Energy Agency launches the Balmorel Lite tool for assessment of the value of renewable energy in different electricity systems. Based on existing power plants, various scenarios can be simulated to represent potential system effects of various investments in renewable energy sources like wind and solar. It is a simple tool that can analyse the transformation of the power systems.

The winning tenders in the pilot tender of aid for solar PV conducted by the Danish Energy Agency were for a premium of only 12.89 Danish øre per kWh. This result testifies that electricity from solar PV in Denmark can now compete with the cheapest sources of renewable energy.

Higher electricity imports and much higher wind power generation led to a large drop in consumption of coal and other fossil fuels at power plants in 2015. This in turn meant that observed CO2 emissions fell by 6.6% in 2015, and that renewable energy now covers 56% of electricity consumption. These are headlines from Energy Statistics 2015, which were published by the Danish Energy Agency today.

Call for tenders on aid for solar PV

The Danish Energy Agency calls for tenders from businesses and private individuals regarding aid for 20 MW solar PV. A part of the tender is cross-border as 2.4 MW will be open to solar PV projects located in Germany. At the same time Germany conducts a tender on support for 50 MW solar PV, which is also open to installations in Denmark.
